Instructions for Submitting Artwork for Mosaic Background Badges

The mosaic background is an additional artwork layer applied to your badge design. Through randomized scaling, positioning, and rotation, each badge receives a unique variation while maintaining the overall design theme. To prepare your artwork for best results:

  • Provide Vector Artwork
Submit artwork in vector format such as PDF or Adobe Illustrator. This ensures the best quality and flexibility for scaling and transformation.

  • Use Larger Images and Patterns
Large, bold artwork and repeating patterns create the most visually dynamic results. Fine detail may be lost when scaled down or rotated.

  • Recommended Dimensions
Artwork should be at least 200% larger than the final print area to allow for scaling and repositioning without losing resolution.

  • Flexibility in Output
Our Mosaic system can apply scaling, positioning, and rotation — individually or in combination, depending on the look you want.

  • Example Artwork Types
While every badge design is unique, artwork often includes:
    • Geometric patterns
    • Gradient textures
    • Abstract vector shapes
    • Large-scale illustrations

Submitting properly formatted artwork ensures that the Mosaic background layer creates unique, professional, and consistent badge variations across your event. See below more detailed instructions, or download this PDF.

For badge orders with a mosaic background, please include a design file with your mosaic element on its own layer.

Mosaic artwork should be in vector format (PDF, Illustrator). Larger images and patterns work best for variation. We recommend artwork dimensions are a minimum 200% of the final print area. Scaling, positioning, and rotation are each optional and can be combined depending on desired output.
